“Build where you are planted and let the world find you.”
Our mission is simple: to be the best online community radio station in the world. For generations, other people told our stories for us. Now it is time to tell our own stories — in our own voices, from home and abroad.
Every day begins with the Verse of the Day and stays close to home and abroad — news through the day, music to drive home to, and Sunday set apart for praise and conversation.
A word to start the morning — scripture and encouragement, every single day.
Headlines from Africa and the diaspora eight times a day. The 10 AM brief rests on Sundays; the 1 PM brief rests on Saturdays.
One warm, true story for the drive home — the kind that reminds you people are still good.
All times Eastern. Between scheduled programmes, the music never stops — Afrobeats, highlife, gospel and the sounds of home, around the clock.
Twenty minutes each morning on Nigeria, Africa and the world — culture, music, innovation, sport and faith, told with warmth and a little laughter.
Hosts Banjo and Marsheen — named for our founder Olubanjo Adigun and his wife Marsheen — record a fresh episode every day. Hear it on the station Monday to Saturday at 9:00 AM Eastern, or catch up anytime on your podcast app.
New episodes daily · about 20 minutes · also on air Mon–Sat at 9:00 AM ET

Olubanjo’s original podcast — 43 episodes on the way of life, the music, food and culture of African people and communities in the diaspora, recorded from 2019. “We are not African because we are born in Africa, we are African because Africa was born in us.”
W A I D, D B was built where its founder was planted — and the world is finding it.
The station was founded by Olubanjo Adigun, a Nigerian born broadcaster who volunteered for about thirty years at WAIF 88.3 FM in Cincinnati before starting his own station. Three decades behind someone else’s microphone taught him what community radio can do — and convinced him the African diaspora deserved a station of its own.
So he built one. Afrikans in Diaspora Radio carries the music, news, faith and everyday stories of Africa and her children scattered across the world — the grandmother in Lagos, the student in London, the family in Cincinnati — all listening to the same song at the same time.
Gospel and inspirational songs from the founder — written, recorded and released under his own name. Stream them on Spotify.
When the founder is not on the microphone, he is writing. Three books so far — a life in music, a philosophy for builders, and fifty tales for the next generation.
The story of Chief Fela Sowande (1905–1987), the father of modern Nigerian art music — the composer who carried Yoruba melody into the concert halls of the world.
A practical philosophy for personal growth, entrepreneurship, creative work, leadership and lasting impact — starting exactly where you are, with what you have.
Fifty illustrated African tales, each with a lesson and a question to talk about together — stories to hand down, the way they were handed to us.
Your business can stand with a station its listeners trust — heard in homes, cars and workplaces across the diaspora, every hour of the day. Sponsorship packages are available for programmes, daily segments and produced spots, with a rate card ready to send.
Song requests, programme ideas, sponsorship enquiries — or just to say where in the world you are listening from. We would love to hear from you.
